Solar Sydney – Feed In Tariff’s Are Paid By Some Electricity Retailers In N.S.W.

As discussed on the Solar Panels Sydney home page there is currently no feed in tariff payable by the N.S.W. government . However electricity providers like Ausgrid (formerly known as Energy Australia) pays 6 cents/KWH feed in tariff and AGL Energy pays 28cents/KWH feed in tariff . Note -these tariffs change regularly , so check with your electricity retailer by calling them (many of their web sites are out of date!). The A.G.L. 28 cents /KWH feed in tariff sounds good but be careful. They charge higher rates to supply electricity to your home. If your electricity usage during the day , say for example ,you use air conditioning or heating a lot during the day ,and use your dishwasher ,washing machine , dryer etc then a solar power system installed in your Sydney home will supply much of this power (depending on the size of the solar panel system installed) , reducing your power bill. So regardless of a feed in tariff or not, solar power can make a huge difference to many Sydney home owners.

Solar SYDNEY- Solar energy is just the first step…

To further maximise the effectiveness of your solar panel system in reducing both your electricity bill and your carbon foot print , you should think about introducing other energy efficiency measures into your home. For example considering solar hot water, L.E.D. lighting , solar air conditioning etc.

Solar Sydney- Remember , Only Use C.E.C. accredited solar installers.

It is very important to note that if you are to be eligible for government incentives such as RECs (now known as STC’s) as well as the solar feed in tariffs discussed above, that the solar installer you use  must be accredited by the Clean Energy Council. Their logo is depicted below. Only CEC members are eligible to use this  logo:
